The PETKUS trior ZK/ZL model is used for sorting and separating various types of seeds, cereal, fine and vegetable seeds and similar agricultural grains and free-flowing granular products. Seeds are separated by length. The cylinders can be used to separate either a short or a long additive. The ZK/ZL model is available in four different sizes and capacity categories ranging from 3-12 t/h (based on 3% impurities in wheat). Based on the optimum adjustment of the cylinder diameter, length and speed, and the optimum adjustment of the seed flow, the trio achieves maximum quality in the separation of impurities.

In the cylinder of short impurities, both half grains and short foreign bodies are separated from the seeds. The impurities are distributed into the concave openings of the cylinder, and rotation of the cylinder lifts them into the central recess in the cylinder. Separation of long impurities works in the opposite way, where the seeds are separated from the long impurities by the concave openings of the cylinder, directing the seeds into the central recess of the cylinder.
